Galcon App Reviews

Great Fun

Really cool simplistic take on domination gameplay. Works well natively in the iPhone :)

The game you will come back to

I buy other games and this is the one that I always come back to. The only game that could beat this would be a multiplayer master of Orion 1

Love this game

This is one of my favorite iPhone games. Fast paced, strategic gameplay. I just wish you could have it so that you could play it on the hardest difficulties and still see how many units are on a planet.

Ignored by dev

This app has so muv potential... But the developer has neglected to take care of some simple game issues which leave it severely wanting. I have reduced my rating to only one star for that and the player community. Players have become impatient waiting for a fix so the now exploit the bugs for the sole purpose of driving people away. Heed my advice; dont bother. Players regularly grief you, delay endgame in perpetuity and other childish antics. I cant really blame them - they feel abandoned by the developer. The fix wouldnt be that hard. Do not buy this until it is fixed.

Its AMAZING!

Multiplayer is so fun and has immense replay value! You have no idea how good this is...And there are tons of players online so buy this game!

Awesome game

Soooo addictive!!! Worth a buck or two easy!

Excellent

I had this game on my old phone and it was easily the best game on that phone. Now I have it on the iPhone and it is still one of the best games I have, but I would not consider it the best. But it is one of the best definitely better than angry birds, and my opinion it should be in the games starter kit.

Awesome old school game!

Very addictive!

IOS5 bugs

Needs to be updated for IOS5, has some pretty bad lag on multiplayer. Almost unplayable now.

Novelty Waste of $2

The one time I feel nice enough to actually buy an app from the iTunes Store instead of downloading it from Installous, it turns out to be a superficial game which attracts people based on novelty. If youre reading this review, kindly scroll down and look at the other reviews in which fools rate the game five stars and say theyve been playing it for years even though at the time of their reviews, the game had only been out for a month. I had come to this game because other reviewers had been comparing it to Hills and Rivers Remain by Square Enix. Clearly, they need to take their heads out of their anal cavities. ==Overall== Theres not much to be said about this game, which is why I didnt even bother to add a "==Gameplay==" section. When I had bought this game, I was expecting more to the single player than a bunch of modes of which to amuse myself. Theres not even a score counter. There is nothing the developers put in this game to make someone strive to keep playing it. At least with Tetris, theres a score counter and unlockable modes. With this game, everything is already laid out for you, including every single difficulty level. The game only gets by because of its novel concept of conquering other planets with numbers. There is no story, no depth, and it gets old very quick, and after having this game for three days now, I can say I made a mistake in purchasing it. Never again.

Great game

Great to waste time on

So good I bought it twice

Had it on my palm pre, great game. More than happy to buy it again.

Unplayable for color-blind players

Awesome concept, I am just blindly tapping on planets though because the yellow/green looks the same. Can you switch to yellow/blue so that I can play it!? Update: Found it

Best game ever

I have spent hours playing this game. Turn off the sound and its an ideal silent waiting room time killer. Here is a request...make an option to save games so its possible to come back to certain layouts.

Amazing game!!!

This has got to be one of the greatest games in the appstore. The online multiplayer is endless fun. The singleplayer has great game modes. If you have an Iphone with access to 3G, this app is perfect for you. You can play online multiplayer with that, unlike most games. The ranking system is outstanding, and it makes you want to continue playing until your a Grand Admiral! I dont get too tired of it, but on occasions i do. Anyway, its only $2! Why not? I think this app has by far the best multiplayer ever. The singleplayer gets old, so i would buy it with an iphone, or ipod with a WI-FI hotspot normally near you to play multiplayer. Great fast game.

One of the only apps I ever bothered to review. This Multiplayer game is great! Ive been playing it since only a couple months after the app store came out. Its can be a very fast paced Multiplayer game, and very strategy orientated. Do no be confused by others giving low reviews to this game. They most likely only played the absolutely crappy "single player" or "campaign" mode (more like arcade mode). In Galcon the single player mode is really only there to serve as a tutorial or training for multiplayer.

Okay

You have to buy the other game to get the special modes online, and because its another $1.99 no one is online to play with (in the Galcon Labs app). The other problem with this game is that it rewards people for sitting and doing nothing. There is no incentive to use your units because you can just wait for other people to lose patience and waste guys on each other. Esentially the person willing to sit around the longest will win. There should be some kind of reward bonus for conquering planets.

Great game

Ive been playing for a few years on a weekly timeframe. Never gets TOO old on multiplayer.

Better than Galcon Labs

If your looking for multiplayer look no further. The online community is still live and well here. Galcon Labs has more game types but the community never became established. If your looking for fun deep light hearted strategy with a functioning online multiplayer component this will fit the bill. For all of the above listed reasons after 4 years this one still deserves a 5 star. Highly recommended!!!
